Today I finished the marble cake I made on Sunday and I have to tell you the results were very unexpected.

We started by making a chocolate cream cheese frosting and then we got the cakes out of the freezer to frost.

I put my professional swirls on the cupcakes with the cut off tops (because they overflowed on the pan, remember?)

Then we decided to turn the one layer of cake we made into a two layer cake, but one of the girl’s coworkers doesn’t like frosting so we had to cut part of the cake off just for him. It’s just two stacked pieces of cake, isn’t that funny?

After I finished frosting and assembling the layer cake it was time to add the fancy sprinkles I picked out.

Then we fit all of the cakes onto one cake circle and the girl was like, Well, Jones, it looks like you may have salvaged the botched batch!

That all went into a bakery box so that the girl can take it to work with her tomorrow for her coworker’s birthday.

I was really worried that the cake wasn’t going to be good at all, so I asked Sketch to taste test it with me in secret.

He took the first bite.
And the second and third. I was like, Sketch, when are you going to give me the fork?

And Sketch was like, Jones! Don’t tell the others about this cake, eh?
And I was like, Oh no, it’s that bad?
And Sketch was like, No, it’s the best thing you’ve ever made, eh? I don’t want to share this one, eh?

I was so relieved! Finally he let me try it and he was right, it was a fantastic bake. But since we didn’t share it with Munch Munch and NuNu we got so full we had to lie down after.
There’s one cupcake left that we might share with the other guys later . . . maybe!
