Last week the girl and I took a road trip to Michigan to see her family. I packed my suitcase with outfits and accessories for a week.

On the day we left the girl had to work until noon, so when we made our first snack stop it was already lunchtime. I was super excited to find soft pretzels at the Kwik Star in Davenport! I had never had a soft pretzel as road food before!

The 389 mile trip was really long. The girl’s phone said it was only going to take six hours, but the phone didn’t know that there were going to be A LOT of slowdowns. We played music and took pictures of signs and cars.

Once we crossed over into Michigan the girl let me steer the car for a while. I liked seeing all the trees alongside the roads.
Eventually we arrived and crashed at the girl’s brother’s house, where he set up an air mattress in the basement for us.

The next day I met the girl’s parents. They took us out for lunch at a place called Mr. Burger, which was awesome!

I shared a grilled cheese sandwich and fries with the girl, and it was so good!

We went to the girl’s parents house later, and they gave me a whole bunch of presents.

One night we had a fancy dinner party where I tried something called bean loaf. It was really interesting.

We had a lot of fun goofing around at the dining table. We joked about having another party where every dish was made with beans.

I wore my special Pac-Man sweater the girl made me just so I could have this photo taken in the girl’s brother’s arcade.

When it wasn’t family time the girl hung out at her favorite store, Horrocks Market.

We shared a turkey and Swiss croissant sandwich from there that was really good.

We spent a little time outside where I saw this baby rabbit.

And this giant mushroom.

And the girl took my picture with this neat barrel.

Eventually it was time to go home again, and I got to steer the car through Chicago when the traffic was super slow.

Once we got home the girl said she wanted to take a two hour bath. I got my donut inflatable and jumped in the water too because I had gotten sticky and my fur was matted from the road trip.

I felt amazingly fresh and clean after I got out of the bath! The girl blowdried my fur so that it would be nice and fluffy.

Then I spent the next couple hours telling Sketch all about my trip.

Now that it’s Sunday I’m relaxing at home and enjoying home cooked food. See my new Michigan pin? I took home some bling as my souvenir!
