A 9-inch plushie takes on American life

Recognized

This weekend was another super exciting one. Instead of waiting for Saturday to go on an adventure, the girl took me to work with her on Friday so that we could go to Big Grove afterwards. I got to meet one of her coworkers when they went out on an assignment, and she was really nice. She said she recognized me from the girl’s work computer where my photo is on the screen.

I wore my couture Big Grove outfit that the girl made me out of the fabric the manager Rachel gave us on our last visit. I felt so cute, especially with my “Easy Eddy” bling on.

The girl seemed to have to work forever, but when she finally got to leave we went to the brewpub. I was so excited to show off my outfit to all of the employees there.

The girl’s friend met us there, and I had my usual Neighborhood beer and soft pretzel. The girl and her friend were both so hungry, they ordered us french fries too, which were also great.

We tried ketchup and garlic parmesan as our sauces.

Our server, Annie, also wanted to have her photo with me, and I was happy to pose with her.

On Saturday the girl had to work again, taking photos at a golf course. But when she was done, her friend picked us up and we went to another Quad Cities River Bandits game!

We arrived in Davenport earlier than we needed to for the night game, so we stopped in at Twin Span Brewing again. We sat down incognito at our high-top table outside, but in just a few minutes I was recognized! I could hear the employees talking about me and my blog!

Our server asked about my work because he didn’t know me yet, and I gave him my card. I told him that I especially love the Twin Span sauce with that amazing soft pretzel.

Somehow we couldn’t finish the pretzel this time because it was so big, so right now part of it is still in the girl’s refridgerator!

When we got to Modern Woodmen Park for the ballgame, the girl’s friend asked if we wanted to go on the ferris wheel. The girl looked doubtful but I said yes!

The rides are a part of the ballpark, so we walked over there and got into a bucket that took us up 104 feet high, where we could see the Mississippi River for miles, and also could see the entire stadium from above.

I thought the views were amazing! But the girl looked terrified. She would not let go of the pole in the middle of our bucket and she hardly looked up. Her friend told her to look at the horizon and not be scared, but she kept her head down anyway. When the ride was over we got out of our bucket and the girl said she was proud the pretzel was still in her stomach.

The girl and her friend both got Hawaiian shirts with hotdogs on them as the night’s giveaway. I got my own River Bandits bling from the fan shop. I thought it looked perfect with my new baseball shirt.

Our seats this time were right behind home plate, so we could see all of the action.

And there was a lot of action! The River Bandits played the Beloit Sky Carp, who are from Wisconsin. The Carp scored right away, but then there was a controversial call from the umpire that got them all rattled, and the Bandits started scoring like crazy! The River Bandits ended up winning 12 to 1. It was wild!

I think I really like baseball!
