Yesterday was Memorial Day. After the girl got done taking pictures of flags and honor guards for her job, her friend picked us up and we took a walk to one of our favorite places — Big Grove Brewery.

Our server, Anna, noticed me and asked about my work as a blogger. I shared my new business card with her and she was so nice we had to get our picture together.

After bringing me a glass of Neighborhood that was more my size, she introduced me to her manager, Rachel, who appreciated my fashion and bling. Rachel then did something amazing.

She brought me some Big Grove fabric and bling!
I was so excited! The girl said she knew exactly how to create a special Big Grove shirt for me out of the fabric, and I can’t wait until she does! The bling is going to make me look so fashion, I can’t believe it!
I really wish the girl didn’t have to work the rest of this week because I can’t wait to visit Big Grove again in my special attire.
The girl wanted to squeeze as much fun as possible into the day, so we went out for ice cream next.

We went to a place nearby called Dane’s Dairy, which the girl’s friend said used to actually have a dairy farm where the cows lived whose milk was used for the ice cream.
I was so excited about my gifts that I was running around and not paying attention to my surroundings while the girl ordered me a Topsoil Surprise. When she slid it over to me on the table, I fell right into it.

I got ice cream and cookie crumbs right in my eye!

It was cold and made my vision blurry but the girl said to stay calm and she would fix it. She cleaned my eye carefully with a napkin, and it felt better right away.

Once I calmed down I realized my Topsoil Surprise had worms crawling on top of it, and I thought that was so funny. I liked having cookies in my ice cream but I did not eat the worms.

You would think that after getting ice cream in my eye our adventure would be over for the day, but it wasn’t. The girl’s friend wanted me to see the Devonian Fossil Gorge, so that is where we went next.

I had fun climbing all over the fossilized sea floor. I thought this fossil was the most spectacular.

A pair of mallard ducks was making smacking sounds while they ate algae, which I thought sounded funny.

Then we went to the Coralville Dam and Spillway. I guess there used to be a lot of water here, but today there isn’t that much.

I climbed up high and had fun watching water gush out of the big tube.

I only felt the tiniest bit of spray even though I wanted to get wet.

Before we left we found a little veterans path that went into the woods and crossed this bridge. It was very peaceful and green there.

My exciting holiday ended with a bath. The girl made sure my eye was completely clean, and she brushed my fur until I was soft and fuzzy.
Everything we did was so fun! I can’t wait for our next adventure.
