Yesterday I had the coolest adventure, but before I can tell you about it I have to backtrack to last week.
After I went to the farmers market in Cedar Rapids, I stopped over to see my friends at Big Grove Brewing there since it had been a while and they were having a Neighborhood block party.

The girl made me a special shirt for the event, and I got tons of attention because of it! One of my old friends, Hannah, was there, and then I made some new friends too. A media person even asked me to come outside for a special photo shoot.

Instead of eating my usual fries, I decided it was time to try something new, so I had some fancy bread with olive oil. It was so good!

Our server told us that Big Grove had just won a whole bunch of medals for their beer at a competition, so I checked out the brewing equipment so see where the good stuff is made.

They had this display shelf of Neighborhood beer too, and when I stood on it I blended right in, like camoflauge! Isn’t that funny?
So anyway, that was last week.

Yesterday we went to Twin Span Brewing in Bettendorf for lunch because we had tickets to a baseball game later in the day. I discovered they had bling so I had to get some to accessorize my outfit!

The super giant pretzel with Twin Span sauce is on my favorite foods list, so I had to order it. I gobbled it right down. Don’t worry, I did share with the girl and her friend . . . a little.

After lunch I looked around a bit more and checked out their brewing equipment too, just to see.

We have never eaten indoors, so I had no idea their bar taps were shaped like the twin span bridge!
That made me want to see the real twin span bridge, which connects Bettendorf, Iowa with Moline, Illinois over the Mississippi River.

So we went to see it, and it was so cool!
Then I was like, do you think we can walk over it?

The answer is yes!

That was so cool! It might have been a mile to walk across to Illinois and back. I even saw a cruise boat go under the bridge while I was up there, and people waved to me!

After that it was time for the ballgame, which was at Modern Woodman Park, a few miles down the river. The ballpark has views of a completely different bridge over the Mississippi, the Centennial.

I had popcorn from a box, not a hat, as my concession.

Then it got dark and the ferris wheel lit up.

The Quad Cities River Bandits lost to the Great Lakes Loons big time (the Loons scored four runs in the top of the first inning alone!), but it was still fun. The giveaway of the night was a fireworks show at the end.

Overall I had such an awesome day. But it was a late night, so today I slept in and am just being lazy. Isn’t that funny?
